ABOUT 301 GALLERY
301 Gallery is an artist-owned collective of accomplished artists whose decades of experience as creators, exhibitors, and arts advocates have helped shape the cultural landscape of the Columbia River Gorge.
A PASSION FOR PLACE
In addition to showcasing the work of its member artists, the gallery presents rotating exhibitions and selected works by guest artists from across the Pacific Northwest, bringing fresh perspectives and a diverse range of artistic voices to the gallery throughout the year. Since opening in 2018, 301 Gallery has become a vibrant destination for exceptional fine art and craft, contributing to the region’s flourishing arts community.
301 Gallery is staffed daily by its member artists, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage directly with the people behind the work. Learn about artistic techniques, creative inspiration, and the stories behind the art as you explore the gallery. Stop in to meet the artist on duty or arrange a personal visit with a favorite artist for a deeper connection to their work and process.
BUTLER BANK BUILDING
Beyond the art, 301 Gallery invites visitors to experience one of Hood River’s architectural treasures. Housed in the historic Butler Bank building at 301 Oak Street, the gallery occupies a beautifully restored 1924 landmark designed by renowned architect A.E. Doyle in the Egyptian Revival style.
Original bank features—including a rose marble floor, vintage safe deposit boxes, and a monumental vault door—lend character and intrigue to the gallery’s contemporary exhibitions. Filled with natural light from tall east-facing windows and defined by generous, soaring spaces, the building provides a remarkable backdrop for art while preserving a tangible connection to Hood River’s past.
