Who We Are
301 Gallery is a collective of 15 artists who have decades-long histories as artists and art organizers. 301 Gallery opened in 2018, adding a distinctly vibrant presence to the growing collection of galleries in the Columbia Gorge. Butler Bank Building
Beyond the art collection and adding to a fascinating experience, 301 Gallery is housed in the historic Butler Bank building at 301 Oak Street in downtown Hood River. Designed by renowned architect A.E. Doyle and erected in 1924, the building is a meticulously restored example of the Egyptian Revival style.
The art is beautifully incorporated in the layout of a building that retains elements of its past as a commercial bank – a rose marble entry floor, a block of safe deposit boxes near the lobby, and an immense vault door remains as a permanent monument near the back of the gallery. The building’s broad spaces, soaring ceilings and tall east-facing windows create a beautiful setting for the arts and enduring testament to Hood River’s central history in the Gorge.
First Fridays
301 Gallery hosts Opening Night Receptions for featured artists on the First Friday of each month from April through December. Please join us to meet the artists and enjoy a libation by Crush Cider. Live music often accompanies these festive and social evenings.
